Number of households by parent’s status. Households are sorted by number of registered children living at home. Counted at a specified month by year-end. Age group of children living at home differ between countries. Month of counting and age group of children is specified in the country-note. The variable Household consist of the following categories: Married, Cohabiting, Single, and Other.

Number of households as per 1 January the following year. Children are defined as children aged 0-24 years living at home. The category 'Other' contains children under the age of 18 living away from home.

Finland

Children are defined as children aged 0-17 years living at home

Iceland

The numbers are based on registries on the 1st of January the following year.

Sweden

Cohabiting people are presented as married.

Sweden

From 2013, a new register were implemented (population register by appartment). This register enables cohabiting people without common children to be conected. Earlier they where counted as singles.
